Development of herbal formulations for treatment of skin ailments Antibacterial cream

Brief Description of Project

Use of herbs as medicine is the oldest form of healthcare known to humanity and has been used in all cultures throughout history. Medicinal plants are widely distributed throughout the world but most abundantly in tropical countries. The essential oils were extracted from selected plants and were investigated for their effectiveness against infectious microbes including E. coli, S. aureus, and P. aeruginosa.  Then the essential oil was used in the preparation of an ointment which will be effective against skin infections. For this purpose, different creams were prepared to have different compositions and are being characterized for their stability and effectiveness both in vitro and in vivo.
