INTRUDUCTION
A magneto-rheological fluid (MR fluid) is a type of smart fluid in a carrier fluid, usually a type of oil. When subjected to a magnetic field, the fluid greatly increases its apparent viscosity. Due to the fast response time, low power consumption, high yield stress, low viscosity and stable hysteretic ehaviour over a broad range of temperature, MR fluid is adopted in several engineering applications e.g. MR Dampers, MR brakes etc.
Objectives
Design, simulate and fabricate a novel prototype MR fluid damper with a new magnetizing system for optimizing the performance of various applications such as Automobiles suspensions & Brakes, train Suspension and Medical orthosis & prosthetic limbs.

SIMULATION RESULTS
CONCLUSIONS
The results obtained from simulations for two stage MR Damper and MR Damper with new magnetization system show that the damping force and dynamic range could be increased up to three times and 2.5 times, respectively, for new MR Damper
