Development of Environmentally safe heat pump dryer for biological applications.
The main aim of this proposed project is to design and develop a compact efficient environmentally safe heat pump dryer. Special features of proposed design are (i) simultaneous control of bypass air and dryer inlet condition to get maximum coefficient of performance (COP) and drying rate, (ii) use of zero ODP and low GWP refrigerant, which is environmentally safe, (iii) compact dryer design and (iv) design based on the wider variation of climatic condition (ambient temperature and humidity).
Proper control strategy will be developed for optimum operation in both dry and moist weathers.
As the air inlet condition of the dryer can be easily controlled, this dryer can be effective used for bio and pharmacitical products.
